Details Details Year of Version 1999 Dates Issued: April 6, 1999 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Industrial Designs Notes According to Article 34(1)(2) of the Patent Law, the patent applications shall be filed with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and may also be filed through a Patent Information Center where an announcement by the Federal Ministry of Justice in the Federal Law Gazette has designated such center for receiving patent applications. Patent applications that may contain a State secret (Section 93 of the Penal Code) may not be filed with a Patent Information Center.

The Patent Information Centers designated by the Federal Ministry of Justice in the Notice are the following:
- The Center for Patents and Standards, University of Applied Sciences of Bremen
-The Information Centre for Technology and Patents (ITP), University of Dormund
-The Patent Information Centre (PIC), Dresden University of Technology
-Central German information patent on-line service GmbH (Mipo)(www.mipo.de)
-The Innovation and Patents Centre (IPC) of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce
- The Patents Information Centre and Online Services (PATON), Ilmenau University of Technology
-Nuremberg Patent Information Center, Bavarian Trade Institute

Nach § 34 Abs. 2 und § 35 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 des Patentgesetzes, die durch Artikel 2 des
Gesetzes vom 16. Juli 1998 (BGBl. I S. 1827) neu gefaßt worden sind, sowie nach
§ 4 Abs. 2 und § 4a Abs. 2 Nr. 2 des Gebrauchsmustergesetzes, die durch Artikel
3 des Gesetzes vom 16. Juli 1998 (BGBl. I S. 1827) eingefügt worden sind, wird
bekanntgemacht, daß die nachfolgend genannten Stellen zu Patentinformationszentren
im Sinne des § 34 Abs. 2 und § 35 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 des Patentgesetzes, § 4 Abs. 2 und §
4a Abs. 2 Nr. 2 des Gebrauchsmustergesetzes sowie Artikel II § 4 des Gesetzes über
internationale Patentübereinkommen vom 21. Juni 1976 (BGBl. II S. 649), zuletzt
geändert durch Artikel 6 des Gesetzes vom 16. Juli 1998 (BGBl. I S. 1827), bestimmt
sind:
