Details Details Year of Version 2013 Dates Entry into force: May 20, 2013 Adopted: April 23, 2013 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Other Notes This Order, issued persuant to section 9 of the Great Seal (Offices) Act 1874, revokes the Crown Office Fees Order 2008.
This Order also prescribes the fees to be taken in the office of the clerk of the Crown in Chancery. In particular, the Schedule to this Order, sets out which Letters Patent are to be increased.

The Lord Chancellor, with the concurrence of the Treasury, makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 9 of the Great Seal (Offices) Act 1874(1):

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Crown Office Fees Order 2013 and comes into force on 20th May 2013.

Fees to be taken in the office of the clerk of the Crown in Chancery

2. The fees set out in column 2 of the table in the Schedule are to be taken in the office of the clerk of the Crown in Chancery in respect of the matters described in column 1.

Revocation

3. The Crown Office Fees Order 2008(2) is revoked.

This Order revokes and replaces the Crown Office Fees Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/1977). The following fees taken in the office of the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery are increased: Letters Patent under the Great Seal for the grant of title of City, from £1,675 to £1,764; Letters Patent under the Great Seal for the grant of title of Lord Mayor, from £1,675 to £1,764; Letters Patent under the Great Seal for a Charter of Incorporation or Supplemental Charter (England and Wales), from £560 to £594; Letters Patent under the Great Seal for the appointment of Heralds, from £215 to £249; Letters Patent under the Great Seal promulgating amendments to Canon law (inclusive of one printed sheet of vellum), from £770 to £799; Letters Patent under the Great Seal for appointment as Queen’s Counsel (England and Wales), from £215 to £264; Issue of certificate confirming appointment as Queen’s Counsel (England and Wales), from £30 to £44; and Determination of an abeyance of a Barony, from £175 to £209. The fee taken for each additional printed sheet of vellum needed to produce Letters Patent under the Great Seal promulgating amendments to Canon law remains the same (£100).
