Details Details Year of Version 1989 Dates Issued: December 12, 1989 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Other Notes The Law of King Fahd National Library provides for the conversion of the King Fahd Library into a National Library (Article 1), whose functions include, inter alia, the organization, publication and registration of intellectual productions; the collection of Islamic cultural heritage materials and the creation of bibliography databases (Article 2).

The National Library has a Board of Trusties composed of a President and five members appointed by the King (Article 3). The Board has the authority to take all decisions regarding the library, in particular to propose the rules relating to the management of the legal deposit and copyright (Article 4(1)).

The law enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette (Article 12).
