Details Details Year of Version 1998 Dates Adopted: September 6, 1995 Type of Text Framework Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, Other Notes The Law of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on External Civil Relations is divided into 5 chapters: Chapter 1 on Fundamental Principles, Chapter 2 on Parties to External Civil Relations, Chapter 3 on Property Relations, Chapter 4 on Family Relations, and Chapter 5 on Settlement of Disputes.

Article 23 of this Law states that intellectual property rights such as copyrights and patents shall be governed by the law of the DPRK. If there is no relevant provision in the laws of the DPRK that regulates an intellectual property-related problem, the relevant international treaties shall be applicable.
