Details Details Year of Version 2021 Dates Amended up to: August 13, 2021 Entry into force: November 11, 2005 Enacted: October 30, 2001 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Plant Variety Protection Notes The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001 (Act No. 53 of 2001) entered into force on different dates (November 11, 2005 for ss. 2 to 13, ss. 95, 96 and 97; and October 19, 2006 for s. 1 and ss. 14 to 94, in accordance to section 1(3) of the said Act.

This consolidated version of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001 takes into account amendments up to the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021 (Act No. 33 of 2021), which entered into force on April 4, 2021.
