Law No. 15.109 introduced § 3 to Article 82, located in Section III, Chapter II, Title I, Book III of this consolidated Code. This consolidated Code governs civil judicial procedures in Brazil, but it does not contain specific provisions on intellectual property. However, it establishes procedural rules that can be applied to disputes involving intellectual property, such as urgent remedies (tutelas de urgência) and general rules on jurisdiction and procedure. The Code provides the procedural framework for resolving such disputes and is applied alongside the specific IP laws, namely Law No. 9,279/1996 (Industrial Property Law) and Law No. 9,610/1998 (Copyright Law).
