Sections 2, 3, 4(1)–(29) and (31)–(59) and 5 entered into force on March 9, 2025.
Section 4(30) entered into force on September 12, 2025.
Section 13 – Amendments to the Copyright Act 2021: Updates to the wording to replace “made by notification” with “published” (section 366(3)) and “notified” with “published” (section 480(6)).
Section 25 – Amendments to the Geographical Indications Act 2014: The Minister may appoint officers or classes of officers to act as authorised officers (sections 55, 55A(2)) or senior authorised officers (sections 55, 55A(3)), with all such appointments required to be published in the Gazette (section 55A(4)).
Section 47 – Amendments to the Registered Designs Act 2000: The Minister may appoint officers or classes of officers to act as authorised officers (sections 68A, 68B(2)) or senior authorised officers (sections 68A, 68B(3)), with all such appointments required to be published in the Gazette (section 68B(4)).
Section 56 – Amendments to the Trade Marks Act 1998: The Minister may appoint officers or classes of officers to act as authorised officers (sections 53A(5A), 53A(5B), 81, 81A(2)) or senior authorised officers (sections 81, 81A(3)), with all such appointments required to be published in the Gazette (sections 53A(5B), 81A(4)).
Section 88(5)(a) – Amendments to the Patents Act 1994: The reference to “printed by the Government Printers” is replaced with “printed or published by the Government Printer.”
