Announcement on the Extension of the Time Limits Indicated in the Announcement on the Protection of Industrial Property

in Uzbekistan*

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted on Feb- ruary 22, 1994, a decree extending the time limit of Janu- ary 1, 1994, indicated in the Announcement on the Protec- tion of Industrial Property in Uzbekistan as published in the November 1993 issue of Industrial Property:'

(1) In respect of the procedures specified in items (6), (7), (8)(d)(ii) and (iii), (8)(g)(i) to (iii) and (10) of the said Announcement, the time limit is extended until October 1, 1994.2

It is to be noted in connection with items- (8)(g)(i), (ii) and (iii) of the Announcement that the time limit for entry into the national phase of an international application whose effects have been extended to Uzbekistan by fulfilling the conditions described in items (8)(e) and (f) of the Announcement is three months from the date of the request for extension if those three months expire later than the time limits mentioned in items (8)(g)(i), (ii) and (iii).

(2) In respect of the procedures specified in item (5) of the said Announcement, no time limit is set.

Le Gouvernement ouzbek a adopté le 22 février 1994 un décret prolongeant le délai qui, conformément à l'Avis relatif à la protection de la propriété industrielle en Ouzbé- kistan publié dans le numéro de novembre 1993 de La Propriété industrielle, expirait le I" janvier 19941•

1) En ce qui concerne les procédures visées aux para- graphes 6), 7), 8)d)ii) et iii), 8)g)i) à iii) et 10) dudit avis, le délai est prolongé jusqu'au 1er octobre 19942•

A propos du paragraphe 8)g)i), ii) et iii) de l'avis précité, il y a lieu de noter que, s'agissant d'une demande internationale dont les effets ont été étendus à l'Ouzbé- kistan moyennant l'accomplissement des actes exposés au paragraphe 8)e) et f) dudit avis, le délai pour aborder la phase nationale est de trois mois à compter de la date de la demande d'extension si ces trois mois expirent plus tard que les délais mentionnés au paragraphe 8)g)i) , ii) et iii).

2) En ce qui concerne les procédures visées au para- graphe 5) dudit avis, aucun délai n'est fixé.
