Law No. 5 of 2006 on Designs of Integrated Circuits come into effect as of the next day following the publication thereof in the Official Gazette (May 3, 2006), in accordance with its Article 37 under Chapter 6 (General Provisions).
The notification by Bahrain to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Law defined designs of integrated circuits as each product in its final form in which the elements - at least one active ingredient - and all or some of the links built within or on a piece of material, and the purpose of this product's performance and function room. The law specifies the recording designs of integrated circuits and periods of protection and litigation procedures in the event of a dispute, or contrary to the provisions of this Act.'
