This Regulation implements the Animals Act 1952.

MADE under the Animals Act 1951.

PART I. – ANIMAL TRESPASS.

1. ORDER TO CONFINE ANIMALS.

An order under Section 6 of the Act shall be in Form 1.

PART II. – POUNDS.

2. POUND BOOK.

The book to be kept under Section 15 of the Act shall be in Form 2.

3. NOTICE OF IMPOUNDED ANIMALS.

A notice under Section 22 of the Act shall be in Form 3.

4. POUND FEES.

The fees due to a pound keeper as pound conduct and sustenance are the fees specified in Schedule 2.

PART III. – STOCK BRANDS.

5. APPLICATION FOR BRAND, EARMARK, ETC.

(1) An application under Section 32 of the Act in respect of a brand or earmark shall be in Form 4.

(2) The fee in respect of each brand or earmark proposed to be registered under Subsection (1) is K4.00.

6. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION OF BRAND OR EARMARK.

A certificate under Section 34 of the Act shall be in Form 5.

7. APPLICATION TO TRANSFER.

(1) An application to transfer a brand or earmark referred to in Section 5 shall be in Form 6, and shall be accompanied by the certificate of registration of the brand or earmark.

(2) The fee for an application to transfer a brand or earmark is K2.00 for each brand or earmark proposed to be transferred.

(3) On the registration of the transfer of a brand or earmark, the Registrar shall note the certificate of registration accordingly and return the certificate to the transferee.

8. BRANDING AND EARMARKING OF SHEEP.

(1) For the purposes of Section 42 of the Act, a sheep brand shall be placed–

(a) in the case of a paint brand–on the shoulder or rump along the back line; and (b) in the case of a burnt brand–on the left cheek or horn.

(2) For the purpose of Section 42 of the Act, earmarks shall be placed–

(a) on the front or top of the ear; or (b) on the point of the ear; or (c) on the back or bottom of the ear; or (d) on the centre of the ear,

in the case of male sheep on the right ear, and in the case of female sheep on the left ear.

9. POSITION OF CATTLE EARMARKS.

The following positions are the prescribed positions for the purposes of Section 49 of the Act:–

(a) the front or top of the right ear; and (b) the point of the right ear; and (c) the back or bottom of the right ear; and (d) the front or top of the left ear; and (e) the point of the left ear; and (f) the back or bottom of the left ear.

PART IV. – DOGS.

10. FEES.

The prescribed fees for the purposes of Part V of the Act are the fees specified in Schedule 3.

11. DESCRIPTION OF DOG.

The prescribed form for the purposes of Section 79(4) of the Act is Form 7.

12. REGISTER OF DOGS.

The book to be kept in accordance with Section 81(a) of the Act shall be in Form 8.

13. RECEIPTS FOR DOG REGISTRATION FEES.

A receipt issued under Section 81(b) of the Act shall be in Form 9, and shall be in duplicate.

14. CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP.

Where the ownership of a dog is changed–

(a) the registration of the dog remains in force without payment of further fee; and (b) the new owner shall make application in Form 10 for his name to be inserted on the registration receipt and the duplicate receipt in substitution for the name of the previous owner; and (c) on the insertion of the name of the new owner on the receipts he takes the place of the previous owner for the purposes of the Act.

15. NOTICE OF SEIZURE OF DOG.

A notice of seizure of a dog under Section 84 of the Act shall be in Form 11.
