注 The Courts (Civil and Criminal Justice) Reform Act 2021 (Act No. 25 of 2021) came into effect on different dates.
Sections 2, 3(1), 4–9, 11–28, 30–56(1), 57–68, 69(a), (c) and (d), 70–73, 76–95, 97–105, 107–125, 127, 128, 129(a)–(d), 130, 131, 133–156, 157(b), 158–192, 193(a)–(e), 194–210, 212–218, 219(a)–(c), 220, 221(d), 222, 223, 224, 226, 228 and 229 entered into force on April 1, 2022.
Section 126 entered into force on June 30, 2022.
Section 157(a), (c) and (d) entered into force on July 1, 2022.
Sections 56(2) and 69(b) entered into force on October 1, 2022.
Sections 3(2), 29, 96, 132, 211, 221(a)–(c), 225 and 227 entered into force on October 15, 2024.
Part 14 (Amendments to Other Acts) of the Courts (Civil and Criminal Justice) Reform Act 2021 introduces changes to the following IP statutes:
Section 109 amends the Copyright Act.
Section 215 amends the Trade Marks Act.
Section 174 amends the Patents Act.
Section 193 amends the Registered Designs Act.
Section 149 amends the Layout‑Designs of Integrated Circuits Act.
Section 179 amends the Plant Varieties Protection Act.
Section 126 amends the Geographical Indications Act.
