Interpretative declaration made upon ratification:
"Regarding to the preamble of the "International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives", the Islamic Republic of Iran as an area under cultivation of olive plant, states that some varieties of olive plants are indigenous to Iran and considered to be part of its genetic resources."
