Commencement of remaining provisions of Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 The remaining provisions of the Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 that have not earlier been brought into force come into force on 27 July 2017.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This order brings into force, on 27 July 2017, the remaining provisions of the Geo- graphical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 (the Act) that have not earlier been brought into force. Section 62 of the Act, which repealed the Geographical Indications Act 1994, was brought into force on 14 April 2008 by clause 2 of the Geographical Indications Act 1994 Repeal Order 2008 (SR 2008/64).

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012. Date of notification in Gazette: 29 June 2017. This order is administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
