Details Details Year of Version 2022 Dates Amended up to: November 1, 2022 Commenced: February 23, 1995 Assented: November 25, 1994 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body Notes This consolidated version of the Patents Act 1994 incorporates all amendments up to the Statutes (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2022 (Act No. 31 of 2022), which came into effect on different dates. Sections 22 (9) of the said amending Act No. 31 of 2022 introduced the following amendment to the said consolidated version: - In section 51 (2), the phrase “by the claimant or with the plaintiff’s consent” was deleted and was substituted “by or with the consent of the claimant”.
