Details Details Year of Version 2022 Dates Amended up to: November 1, 2022 Commenced: October 31, 2000 Assented: December 11, 1998 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Trademarks Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body, Competition, Geographical Indications Notes This consolidated version of the Trade Marks Act 1998 incorporates all amendments up to the Statutes (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2022 (No. 31 of 2022), which entered into force on different dates. Section 22 (14) and section 23 (4) of the said amending Act No. 31 of 2022 introduced the following amendments to the said consolidated version: - In section 31 (5) under Part 3, the word “plaintiff’s” was deleted wherever it appeared and was substituted by “claimant’s”. - In section 109 under Part 11, subsection (2) was deleted.
