Details Details Year of Version 2015 Dates Amended up to: July 27, 2015 Entry into force: November 23, 1996 Published: September 24, 1996 Promulgated: September 23, 1996 Type of Text Framework Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of Law No. 9.307 of September 23, 1996 incorporates amendments up to Law No. 13.129 of May 26, 2015, which entered into force on July 27, 2015 (60 days after its official publication on May 26, 2015). The amending Law No. 13.129/2015 modifies Articles 1, 2, 4, 13, 19, 23, 30, 32, 33, 35, and 39; adds Articles 22‑A and 22‑B (forming Chapter IV‑A: Precautionary and Urgent Measures) and Article 22‑C (forming Chapter IV‑B: Arbitral Letter); and repeals §4 of Article 22, Article 25, and item V of Article 32. Law No. 9.307/1996 (Arbitration Law): Provides a framework for resolving arbitrable disputes under Brazilian law, including intellectual property disputes (patents, trademarks, copyrights, technology licenses). Relevant provisions include: Arts. 1, 4, 6–10, 14–16, and 17, which cover arbitrable rights, arbitration agreements, procedural rules, and enforceable arbitral awards.
