Details Details Year of Version 2024 Dates Amended up to: February 14, 2024 Entry into force: March 1, 1984 Published: January 20, 1984 Promulgated: January 9, 1984 Type of Text Other Texts Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of the Decree incorporates amendments up to Law No. 4/2024 of January 15, 2024, which entered into force on February 14, 2024. It amends the regime in force governing anti-economic offenses and offenses against public health, replacing and modernizing the previous framework, notably that established by Decree-Law No. 41.204 of July 24, 1957. Article 23 is particularly relevant to intellectual property enforcement, as it criminalizes the manufacture, importation, sale, and distribution of counterfeit or falsified goods. Although trademarks are not expressly mentioned, the provision indirectly supports trademark protection by addressing conduct commonly associated with trademark counterfeiting.
