In accordance with article 16, paragraph 1(a)(ii) of the Convention, Costa Rica will not apply the provisions of article 12 to free, traditional, non interactive over-the-air broadcasting, or to non-commercial public broadcasts and communications, as provided for by Costa Rican legislation. This declaration was deposited on August 13, 2009, and was withdrawn on July 12, 2018.
