On March 4, 2022, the Government of Ukraine made the following communication: "… Ukraine … is unable to guarantee full implementation of its obligations [under the above Convention] due to the Armed aggression of the Russian Federation and with the imposition of martial law until the complete cessation of encroachment on the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine."
Declaration made upon ratification:
"The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic will apply the provisions of this Convention, as regards arbitral awards made in the territory of States not parties to the Convention, only on the basis of reciprocity."
On October 20, 2015, the Government of Ukraine made a communication concerning the temporary restriction of application of the Convention by Ukraine to the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
