'[The Patent Law] regulates property and non-property relations that arise in connection with creation, legal protection and use of industrial property, including inventions, utility models and industrial designs'.
Article 2(2) of the Law provides that protection of other intellectual property rights (selection achievements, topologies of integrated circuits, trademarks, service marks, names of places of origin of goods and others) shall be regulated by other legislative acts.

This consolidated version of the Law incorporates amendments up to Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 378-V of October 31, 2015, which came into force on January 1, 2016.
